This image was originally produced by Sofia Barton as part of our Let’s Talk about Sex project and will be given a new life through a new commission for the College of St Hild and St Bede at Durham University.
After a buzzing staff and student engagement session in the Summer term, this week, Alix Collingwood and I got together to work out the narrative arc of the exhibition we’ll be installing as part of the HB 🩵 festival, based on the key messages and imagery the college want to showcase.
This image in Sofia’s “brandalist” style fits with their idea of a positive, pro-social modelling of healthy and respectful relationships and will feature alongside works by Lou Brown and James Mernagh.
Excited to see how it all comes together into a series of window panels to be installed later this term as part of a whole programme of art-tastic healthy relationship-themed activity.
