Creative Learning
Commissions

We develop bespoke artworks and creative learning tools to help organisations who want to engage their teams and beneficiaries in challenging social themes and foster empathy and understanding.

We work with our partners to understand what you need. We use an iterative process of testing and refining, giving you the chance to feed back and make adjustments through the process of collaboration. We develop guidance to support your teams to use our creative content confidently and build in flexibility to give you different options for different groups.

We have delivered commissions for universities and voluntary sector organisations, but this offer could be applicable to schools, local authorities and businesses who are interested in benefiting from the use of creative learning methods to invite reflection and open up discussion around challenging themes. Our co-production process ensures that the resulting output resonates with your target audience.

Why commission Changing Relations?

Tailored to Your Needs

We will listen to you and involve you in the process. We will find the common ground for a genuine collaboration that responds to your needs.

Tailored to Your Needs

Fresh Thinking

We will bring new ideas to your learning and engagement plans. Our creative minds mean we see innovative possibilities and we love to share.

Fresh Thinking

Joining the dots

Changing minds is tricky as most people don’t want to be told what to think. Art is a useful tool to help participants notice and challenge unhelpful norms and assumptions for themselves.

Enhance learning and awareness

We can build a bespoke learning programme or awareness campaign around existing artworks in our creative portfolio. We would work with you to identify the objectives for your target audience and plan how the artworks in our portfolio could be used to prompt the reflection and discussion you are looking for in your teams or with your participants.

Creative engagement tools

We can create a bespoke engagement tool (such as a zine or a poster series) that draws from the artworks in our existing creative portfolio to create a brand new output for use in your organisation or community. We would work with you to select the content to use to deliver the messaging you are looking for.

Co-produce a whole new artwork!

We can co-create a whole new artwork that draws from the perspectives of your team or beneficiaries to speak to a pressing issue for your organisation. This could be to help you reach key stakeholders or decision makers, affect policy change, promote greater empathy and inclusion or help future beneficiaries learn from the experience of current participants.

Our
Impact

“There’s a strong sense of respect in the student voice and wanting to support and facilitate students rather than an imposition of particular things.”

Professor Ann McLarnon

Principal of Hatfield College, Durham University

“The way they work through the collaborative construction of knowledge is really strong and very neatly layered. The idea of working through a creative process as a way of opening up discussion and engagement provides a safe way for people to enter into conversation about quite complex and sometimes challenging issues. [They] bring two levels of expertise: subject expertise in relation to gender relations; and arts expertise.”

Professor Simon Forrest

Principal of College of St Hild and St Bede, Durham University

“This genuine collaboration [has shown that] two heads are better than one… I love how you support all those around you, I felt so supported by you and it’s meant a lot to me.”

Laura McIntyre

Head of Operational Services, Changing Lives

“[The Zine is an] absolutely fantastic thing which isn’t around… it is going to help so much, especially in the male community”.

Chris Twinn

Practitioner, Changing Lives
